GABA Rice Day 2 |

GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) |
this is what brown rice looks like after it has been soaked in water for 24 hours |
soaked rice allowed to drain in colander for 24 hours place a wet towel over the colander warning: the sprouting process releases a distinct odor of vomit or garbage occasionally rinse with water |
sprouted brown rice after 48 hours |
sprouted brown rice after 60 hours |
your guess is as good as mine as to when the optimum time is to start cooking the rice I imagine you can make GABA rice as soon as the rice has sprouted I use a Zojirushi Induction Heating Pressure Rice Cooker set to GABA rice this setting takes over 3 hours because the machine cooks the rice at 104ºF for 2 hours |
